On Friday, Jan. 22, decked in a red jumpsuit, comedian Adam Ace entertained students in O’Donnell. After a strenuous first week of classes, Ace, brought to Nebraska Wesleyan University by WEB, paid a much-needed visit for a 9 o’clock show. Ace walked out on stage calm, cool and collected and managed to keep his audience highly entertained the entire night. He also managed to poke fun at audience members all night, the most common being first-year Zach “Toad” Schroder. Being an offensive lineman on the football team, Toad, as his friends call him, has some muscle to his body. After asking Toad if he played a sport and getting a confirmation, Adam Ace calmly replied, “Let me guess, swimming?”
Ace also knew how to quiet down the audience, as he said to one female who had talked twice already “Ma’am, you are really annoying.”
As all jokes referred to audience members, the humorous comment was well received and so was Ace, showing that he had the glorious ability to make people laugh. Ace proceeded to discuss topics such as where popular singers get their inspiration, listening to the radio on a date and how middle-school students dance.
Later that night, four NWU men were called on stage for the finale: putting on obscure costumes and dancing to a mix-tape of music previously designed by Ace. Overall, Ace was a pleasant surprise. It was obvious that Ace had experience in many environments and knew what it took to do his job (making people laugh) to the best of his abilities.
Donations were collected from the over 150 people in attendance to be put towards Haiti Relief projects.
