We live in a world full of illness, pain, disease, etc. Science has made it possible to cure many of those maladies, and yet many of us stand by and merely watch as others recover thanks to this miraculous medicine. So many people fear the doctor, or make excuses not to go, but why not go? In a society with so many ways to make ourselves better, why not take advantage of the great medical technology we have at our feet? If you happen to be suffering from any sort of affliction and are wary about getting it checked out, perhaps you should consider the following:
5. People get tired of hearing you talk about that pain in your hip. Honestly, how long has your finger hurt or have you had that disgusting scar? Chances are the people around you know how long down to the millisecond. Get it checked out, if not for your sake, then for the sake of those around you.
4. You will thank yourself in the long run. Indeed, prevention is a beautiful thing. Getting that weird (or normal) illness checked out now will ensure your immunity to it in the future. Doctors can pinpoint your weaknesses and help you build a shield against them. Plus, you’ll be better prepared for any other illness that may afflict you having dealt with something before.
3. Visiting the doctor for a cold or routine check up may lead to the discovery of another (possibly more serious) malady that was previously unknown to you. Sure this is one reason people don’t go to the doctor, but wouldn’t you rather know and be able to treat something before you reach No. 2?
2. It could get worse. Always try to avoid doing further damage to the goods. There is no reason to tolerate discomfort, especially in this day and age with all of the available technology. If you let something that seems benign slide now, you could really regret it in the future. Yes, there’s that 80 percent chance that it will go away without the need of medical assistance, but you’re better safe than sorry.
1. It’s not so bad after all. Going to the doctor isn’t all bad business. You could always discover that you have a simple cold, or just didn’t get enough sleep. The human body is a wondrous thing and can remain that way if you keep it in top physical condition.
