I love the new Facebook! And I'm getting tired of hearing people complain about it. It's amazing!
Why do I like the new Facebook? It is so easy to use! I feel so organized and the new tabs are great. There is a lot more organization there.
I also love all the new security features. I can make people see my limited profile if I don't want them to know all my business.
It's also so much easier to change my status and my profile picture and I can delete and add tabs to my profile. I love how Facebook shows you how to use the new features and I love how my feed goes along with my comments, because I'm horrible at writing back to people because they were at the bottom of my page. Now it's right at the top.
Also, considering how the internet is a much scarier place these days, I'm excited that they have increased the security. I can't wait to see some of the new changes to come!
For all you skeptics out there, stop complaining and remember the days before Facebook, MySpace, Xanga and whatever else is out there. Remember that there was a time when we didn't rely on the internet for our enjoyment. Okay, got that mental picture? Good. Shut up!

As of Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2008, 857,254 Facebook members have joined one of a plethora of new groups aimed at bringing back the old Facebook. Each group has the same recurring theme: 'I hate the new Facebook!' Although I have not joined a group, in regards to what seems to be the biggest online protest in recent United States history, I do agree with these individuals. I too, hate the new Facebook.
It was nice to log on to the old Facebook, see your homepage and your news feeds. Clicking the tab at the top of the page that said 'Profile' was nice and basic and when you went to your profile, there was everything on one page ready to be enjoyed and rearranged at your leisure. It was also less confusing to post a note on someone's wall, and is it just my laptop, or does the new Facebook freeze…a lot?
The new Facebook has provided many challenges such as adding different tabs to view different boxes on someone's profile. Who knows, maybe they did away with the old format to help deter the creepers that seem to be taking over Facebook. I just hope that these developers don't turn Facebook into another MySpace.
Now I will admit, I am not one of those people with numerous amounts of applications that say, 'Are you interested?,' or 'Someone has a crush on you!,' not to mention 'Hot or Not.' My profile was simple enough and stated only the basic things about me that everyone needed to know such as my faith, the music I listen to and, of course, my loyalty to the Husker football team.
Then I thought, maybe they needed to create this new Facebook with separate tabs because certain members have an unnecessary and ridiculous amount of applications on their profiles. Most people try to avoid those profiles. Who needs two walls to post on anyway? A wall is a wall.
Long story short, the old Facebook was just fine and didn't need to change formats. Call me old-fashioned, but I hate the new Facebook. That being said, will the new Facebook break my addiction to the popular site? Probably not; it's just a major inconvenience.
