Environmental Justice Expert to Give Public Lecture at NWU

Robert Bullard, often considered as “the father of environmental justice,” will deliver a lecture at Nebraska Wesleyan University on Thursday, Feb. 4.

Bullard, the Director of the Environmental Justice Resource Center and the Ware Distinguished Professor of Sociology at Clark Atlanta University, will present “Environmental Justice for All” at a 1 p.m. lecture in Olin B Lecture Hall.

Bullard is the author of 15 books that address sustainable development, environmental racism, urban land use, community reinvestment and emergency response.

His latest book is titled, “Race, Place and Environmental Justice After Hurricane Katrina: Struggles to Reclaim, Rebuild, and Revitalize New Orleans and the Gulf Coast.” He is completing a new book, “Deadly Waiting Game Beyond Hurricane Katrina: Government Response, Unnatural Disasters and African Americans.”

His lecture is free and open to the public.
