Intramurals Corner

Welcome back for another week at the Intramurals Corner.

So far the semester has been rolling along without any severe mishaps, and it seems like it will only get better from here. We have three new sports to sign up for in the upcoming weeks that are sure to bring some enjoyment to the students.

The sign-up for Ultimate Frisbee, Wallyball and Spring Flag Football are now under way. These entries are due near the end of March, so get out there and sign up your team. Ultimate Frisbee has been a very popular sport for students in the past four years.

For those of you who don't know, this sport is like football, only with a Frisbee, and less contact.

Wallyball is a newer sport in the Intramurals department. This game is like volleyball, but is played on the racquetball courts.

Coming back for its second season is the Spring Flag Football season. There are a few changes to this year's Flag Football season. Instead of having regular-season play and tournament, we are just going to have a double-elimination tournament held over a couple of weeks.

Going to old news, I want to thank all of the participants of the first annual 10-point Pitch Tournament on March 7. I thought that it was a pretty good turnout, and it seemed like everybody was having a good time. I also want to thank all of the basketball participants
for showing a little more respect for the referees during the game. This has helped to resolve some of the conflicts involved with the sport.
