I want to start out by saying welcome back to all the students on campus and welcome to another year of intramural sports. I know it's a little late for that, but this has been my first chance to address all of you. As many of you know from the title, my name is Mike Herz and I am an Intramural Supervisor for the program. I am starting this new column to help bring some insight to the fellow students on campus.
This will be a great place to see what activities will be coming up and, hopefully, provide some good discussion topics about the intramural program.
Like I said earlier, the intramural season has already begun! We started the year off strong with a record number of participants for the Sand Volleyball league and the always popular Flag Football season. Both sports are looking strong as they head into playoff mode.
Don't forget about signing up for the upcoming Indoor Volleyball and Tune-Up Basketball leagues. These are great opportunities to get active and play the sports that you love to play with your new and old friends here on campus. Sign-up sheets are available at the Weary Center and in the basement of Smith-Curtis, so go sign up and let the fun begin!
I also hope that this article will help bring some insight of the Intramural program to the student population. I hope that you (the students/participants) will help me to keep everyone informed. My idea is to have students email me any questions, comments or complaints that you have about the Intramural program. From these, I will pick five (or so) of the best questions/comments and try to answer them in the next issue. But to do this, I need you all to send your comments to me at: mherz@nebrwesleyan.edu.
Well, that is all from the Intramural side this week. Keep signing up for the upcoming leagues and remember to send your questions/comments. Peace.
