Intramurals Corner

I know all of you were waiting for this, so here it is: It’s the third edition of the Intramurals Corner with your host, Mike Herz. Sorry, I have been watching way too much T.V., most specifically “The Price is Right.” It is time for another update from the Intramurals office.

For starters, we have two new champions for sand volleyball.

In the amateur division, the Sand Diggers were able to pull away from the competition and secure their place in history by winning the tournament. As for the professional division, the Pink Zebras powered their way through the pro tournament and won with the help of their two outstanding outside hitters, Tyler Ridder and Tanner Schutt. For their effort, both teams were awarded the coveted Intramural Champions T-shirt, with a new, cool design picked out by the intramural supervisors.

That being said, I want to comment on the basketball leagues once again this week. I know I talked about it last week, but I want to reiterate how important sportsmanship is needed during the intramural basketball season. The referees and supervisors working that night will not be tolerating any of that “crap” from the players, and will have no problems ejecting you from the game. This could result in you not playing intramural basketball for a while. So, play hard, but respect the game and players as well. I also want to send out a thank-you to all of those individuals who are helping keep score and refereeing for this basketball and volleyball season. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Once again, I have received no comments or questions from any participants of intramurals, which is making this article harder to write every week. So, again, I’m asking anybody who has a question or comment about the Intramural Program to send me their thoughts at mherz@nebrwesleyan.edu. We here in the Intramural department value your thoughts and want to know how we can better serve and make it more enjoyable for you, the participants.

Thanks for reading, and keep playing.
