The Nebraska Wesleyan Univesrity softball team looks to continue their winning ways
this season after posting four straight 20-win seasons, which is the winningest stretch in program history. The expectations are running high for the 2010 season as the Prairie Wolves return several key members of last year's team, including the top two pitchers and two of the top three hitters from 2009.

Junior pitcher Alysia Wittmaack and outfielders Marcia Kennedy and Dani Bryant return
and will lead the Prairie Wolves in 2010. Wittmaack was named the AD3I Pitcher of the
year and broke the school record for strikeouts with 192. She won 13 games with a 1.85 ERA last season. Meanwhile, both Kennedy and Bryant were named to the Second-Team All-GPAC in 2009.

One big change for the Prairie Wolves this season is in the schedule. They will now be
competing towards the NAIA National Tournament and the GPAC Championship instead of the DIII schedule.

"Our players have made the decision to pursue a postseason bid, rather than putting their
future in a bid process through a committee" said Head Coach Lance Kingery. "Our players
want the opportunity to decide their own future with their own abilities," Kingery added.
The NWU softball team will open their season down in Tucson, Ariz. on March 14 against Patten College at 3:30 p.m.
