Spelts Earns GPAC Runner of the Week Honors

Nebraska Wesleyan University senior Jackie Spelts is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Women’s Cross Country Runner-of-the-Week.


Spelts, the All-American from Burwell, Neb., placed 16th at the 20th Annual Woody Greeno/Nebraska Cross Country Invitational on Saturday (Sept. 19) with a time of 21:48.18. She was the highest GPAC finisher on the day.


Spelts also helped the NWU women to a second place team finish in the college division of the race.


Jaacks is GPAC Golfer of the Week

Nebraska Wesleyan University junior golfer Kyle Jaacks is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Men’s Golfer-of-the-Week. Jaacks, a junior from Lincoln, was the medalist in the GPAC Men’s Golf Qualifier No. 1 at Orange City, Iowa on Sept. 17.


He shot a round of 68 (32-36) at the Landsmeer Golf and Country Club to take the early individual lead. Jaacks also helped NWU shoot a team score of 293 to tie Morningside College for the team lead after the first round.


The second GPAC Qualifier will be played on Oct. 6 at Wilderness Ridge Golf Course in Lincoln, Neb.
