Women Take Third at NWU

Alyssa McBride shot a two-day total of 167 (85-82) to place third individually and lead the Nebraska Wesleyan women to a third place team finish after the second round of the NWU Women's Golf Spring Invite held Monday (Apr. 19) at Pioneers Golf Course in Lincoln.



A pair of Sioux Falls golfers Allison Zeller and Sarah Gilbert tied for first individually with a total of 156. Gilbert won the scorecard playoff to win medalist honors. The Cougars also won the team title with a team score of 655.



McBride was the only NWU golfer to place in the top ten individually. Sarah Hotoy was the second Prairie Wolves golfer as she tied for 13th with a total of 178 (88-90). Kiley Miller shot a 182 (91-91) and Lindsey Keyes was one stroke back at 183 (92-91) to round out the NWU scoring.



For Sioux Falls they defeated second place Hastings College by 30 strokes for the team title. Zeller had the low round of Monday with a score of 74, while Gilbert shot a 77.



Briar Cliff was in second place after day of the tournament but did not compete on the second day.
