All year I have issued challenges that call for action – from students and faculty, both. I was first spurred by a desire to continue discussion about Visions & Ventures. It strikes me as hypocritical that Nebraska Wesleyan University advertises the symposium and heralds the subjects discussed with students. Yet, the ideas conveyed are only rarely carried beyond the two-day period.
A quick test of that hypothesis: when did you last talk about the ideas our guest speakers shared? Do you recall the theme? (It was “Economic Justice: The Colors of Money.”)
There are three more regular issues of The Reveille due to print this semester: Mar. 25, Apr. 15 and Apr. 29. If you would like to continue the campus-wide discussion over anything we’ve said this year in the Voices page, or have a subject of your own that you’d like to talk about, please feel welcome to contribute.
Email my opinionated colleague, Molly Hefner, at mhefner if you’re interested.
